Lucid Management Group President & CEO Darren Penner believes that business innovation and progress begins by knowing the industry inside and out. He began his career in sign and street furniture manufacturing by learning from the ground up and has since become an industry leader with years of experience and knowledge. He continues to push for advancements and improvements in sign and street furniture design, technology and processes that are efficient for customers and friendly to the environment.
Darren first rolled up his sleeves in 1987 as the operations manager for Artistic Sign Services managing multiple locations, coordinating staff, maintaining the vehicle fleet and estimating projects. Four years later, he bought the company. As an owner/operator, he managed all departments relating to electric sign sales, production, installation, and services. During this time, Darren had the intuition and foresight to research new products and technology. This included implementing efficient sign management software and effective processes that covered all areas of the electric sign business.
After selling his companies Artistic Sign Services and Prolite Neon in 2000, Darren joined the Pattison Sign Group. He reported directly to the Vice President and was responsible for refining systems relating to all areas of operations. Soon he was promoted to regional sales manager where he managed national sales accounts and used his past sign management experience to update and improve Pattison’s electrical sign production processes.
In 2009, Darren formed Lucid Management Group, a project management company that oversees nationwide image rebranding campaigns and the manufacturing of signs, street furniture, advertising displays, billboards, covered shelters, and covered walkways. His innovation and high standards continue to grow as he strongly advocates environmental responsibility in all areas of his business from using green products in the office to producing renewable energy products.
Darren continues to lead by example and successfully inspires each of his team members to understand their customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.
